On August 14, the FESCO transport group and Hyundai Glovis signed an agreement to launch a container service that will connect the North Capital with South Korea's Busan. Marine regular FESCO lines will deliver containers to Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port, from where high-speed container trains along the Trans-Siberian Railway will transport cargo to St. Petersburg.

Thanks to this project, part of the cargo, which now goes through the Suez Canal for about 40 days, can be transported in just 15 days. The basis of the traffic will be automotive parts and components for the plant Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus in St. Petersburg. In a month, in a new direction, it is planned to transport up to 500 20-foot containers.

The agreement of intent signed during the ceremony of dispatching the first regular train fixed the plans of the parties to increase the volume of transportation from South Korea to the regions of Russia through the Far East. The development of such intermodal services will undoubtedly increase the transit potential of our country, and a new transit line will help develop and simplify the freight turnover between Europe and Asia.
